The Ronald Reagan High School Band has a history of success in the chamber music world. The band program is most well-known for their nationally recognized saxophone quartet, Quid Nunc. As of 2022, the band program has also developed a competitive brass quintet, Brass Nexus.
Chamber Ensembles
Ronald Reagan High School’s chamber groups have performed on stages including UIL Texas State Solo/ Ensemble Contest, Houston Underground Saxophone Quartet Competition, Coltman Chamber Music Competition, and the Margaret Tobin FAME Awards. The ensembles have also performed at the “Sounds Like KPAC” competition and been invited to perform at the 69th Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Illinois.
Chamber music is vital to the success of any band program and is fostered through many chamber opportunities for all students. Students compete in chamber ensembles at UIL Region Solo/ Ensemble with many earning an opportunity to compete at the UIL State level. Students of all ability levels also perform with a chamber group during the band’s annual fundraising event, Reagan Band Casino Night.
